Dry Shampoo part deux!

31 Jul

Washing amazingly red colored hair is the worst.  1) my bathroom looks like scene for psycho until I bleach it

and 2) it strips the hair color so you go from fab to frump in days.

Not cute.  Solution? Clearly, avoid washing your hair.   Besides, frequent washing isn’t good for hair even if it’s not color treated to an inch of its natural life.

This is my fave dry shampoo.  It’s from an Etsy vendor, EcoFriendlyLiving.  (love Etsy way hard), and it is different in that it doesn’t come in a bottle.   You sort of have to sprinkle it on your hair.  BUT…this gives you crazy control over where it goes!

Why is this important you ask??? Because it doesn’t accidentally spray on your strands!  It keeps on the roots.  This way you hair doesn’t look as dull and lifeless.

It smells minty and helps eliminate odors from your hair.

The lowdown – it’s $8.00 for 4.0 OZ.  I have had this since April.   April, people!  And I use it all the time.  I’m down to about a 1/4 of the jar.  I believe the reason you get so much use out of it is because it’s not an aerosol.  So you aren’t essentially paying for air.

My other fave is Batiste which is available in many grocery and beauty stores in the States.

I wash my hair 2 times in a week.  I try to go 3-4 days between shampoos.  I’d love to be able to stretch to 5, but I haven’t been able to work it into a weekend schedule.  I sort of want my hair to look it’s best on the weekend.  🙂  Typically I will wash on a Monday or Tuesday and then on Friday or Saturday.

My lifesavers : dry shampoo, cute barrettes, headbands.

Very interesting little jar. Will have a look into what it is and where it can be purchased. I don’t like to wash my hair very day either.

It’s from Etsy! The link should still work. It smells minty and fresh.
