This ad campaign is really wonderful. Seriously, after seeing this I paid a visit to Aerie’s website and I never would have before.
It’s amazing to see lingerie models that have stretch marks, tattoos and aren’t mega skinny. In a society has made us feel like you have to be a size 2 to be beautiful and that size 8 is plus sized this campaign could have an impressive outcome. (aside from selling tons of bras, which Aerie gives free shipping and returns on, btw!)
In an interview with ABC News, Aerie style and fit expert Jenny Altman explained, “We left everything: beauty marks, tattoos. It’s a selling point because our customers represent this great demographic and they don’t get to see what girls their age really look like.”
The website has been updated to show you a real person with your bra size wearing that bra. So if you are a DD you will see a photo of someone with the same cup size modeling that bra. You can view that HERE. Their bra sizes range from 32AA to 40DD.
Also- let me take this time to tell everyone who has never had a bra fitting to go get one! You can get fitted at most lingerie stores at your local mall or you can measure yourself at home using this handy guide. It will change your life…urr boobs.
I have yet to try anything from Aerie – anyone have experience with their products and want to weigh in on if I should?
