September-ish empties 2018

8 Oct

It’s probably been about a year or more since I wrote an empties post.  When I started to think about getting back into blogging, I started collecting the empties here and there.  I’m sure there are a lot of items missing from here, but I tried to hang on to the products I wanted to talk about.  I’m also still debating whether to only include full size products or beauty box subscription products too.   I’m sure I will change my mind a 100 times.

So what did I use?   Fragrance?  Make up?  Hair?

HB4116

I will probably say a little something about each of the products.   So left to right, we have:

Simple Eye Make Up Remover Pads – These are pretty great and really affordable at just under $7.00.  One pad removes almost all of stubborn eye make up.

Calvin Klein Beauty – This fragrance is really light and fruity/citrus.   It is really great for work and I would get a lot of compliments.

100% Pure Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream – I buy this eye cream on and off and I still like it.

L’Oreal Elvive Total Repair Shampoo – I really like the Total Repair line.  I think it’s the best drug store shampoo and conditioner.

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb – this is my favorite go to evening and special occasion scent.

Simple Cleansing Wipes – My go to, I use them as a make-up remover and also as a cleanser in a pinch.

Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet – this was an okay moisturizer.  Not remarkable but not terrible.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray – one of the best setting sprays on the market, it just punches your wallet a little too much.

Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse – good product.  Recently reviewed on the site.

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion – One of Holy Grails.

DermaE Purifying Daily Detox Scrub – I really like this line and this was a good scrub.

Drybar Bay Breeze Shot – this didn’t wow me, that’s all.

Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray – I have no idea how to use these sprays so they are sort of lost on me.   I can’t even give an actual review 🙂  but, I didn’t end up with the feeling this product changed my life somehow.

Have you Lovelies tried any of these?  What did you think?  What were your Empties for September?  Link to your blog in the comments 🙂

Thanks for reading!

Play! by Sephora September 2018

1 Oct

It’s been a long time since I did an unboxing 🙂

Sephora Sept.jpg

In September Sephora filled the bag with Olehenriksen, Boscia, Too Faced, Sephora Collection, Marc Jacobs Beauty, and Philosophy.

Here is the details:

C What’s New by Olehenriksen

Succulent Solution by Boscia

Radical Reviver by Too Faced

Buildable Breakthrough by Sephora Collection

The Berry Best by Marc Jacobs Beauty

On The Rose by Philosophy

All of these products are new to me, so I am excited to try them.  The Marc Jacobs lipstick shade looks amazing, and perfect for the Fall/Winter seasons.

For those who don’t know, Play! by Sephora is a monthly beauty subscription by Sephora.   It’s $10 a month plus tax.   AND the 10 dollars you spend on the subscription counts toward your points if you are a Beauty Insider.  Isn’t that a nice deal?

Let me know if you lovelies have you used any of these products!

Thanks for reading!

I’m pretty sure this makes me smell like Rihanna

12 Sep

It had been some time (read years) since I used a body mist or spray.  I used to be a fan of them in the summer.   Somehow overtime I just sort of stopped buying them.

However, one day this summer I came into my local Walgreens and was presented with a wall of body sprays.  There were so many!  I was mesmerized!

What quickly caught my eye was the collection from Rihanna, which has at least 3 different scents.

Rihanna

I choose Nude 🙂  It was the softest scent.  I thought it was layer nicely under any fragrance I would wear in a day and it would also wear well alone.  Best price, it was only $7.99!

Nude by Rihanna smells sweet, but delicate. It’s only over sticky candy sweet like some body mists can be.  It fades in about 2-3 hours.  It layers well with other perfumes.

I’m thinking of buying the other mists from the collection: Rihanna Riri and Rihanna Reb’l Fleur.

The description of the items on the Walgreens site gives some idea of what these will smell like.  Riri is a flora, and Reb’l Fleur is probably a musk.  Either way,  as with Nude, I think they will also layer well and wear well on their own.

What do you guys think of body mists?  Do you like them?  Do you wear them alone or with other scents?

Review – All Natural Deodorant by NorthCoast Organics

4 Dec

Winter is a great time to switch to an all natural deodorant. I know this can seem scary (and stinky) but regular deodorants/antiperspirants have not so healthy ingredients in them. There are products out there that actually work at de-stinky you, it’s just a matter of finding one that works with your body’s chemistry. It’s also good to have a close enough friend who will tell you if you stink.

I personally use Death By Lavender from NorthCoast Organics. Look how cute this is!

deathbylavender1

The skull is totally why I tried it, not gonna lie.  “An elite assassin of odor you can trust.”

Their line of deodorants include three scents: Revolver [Cedarwood, Cypress and Clary Sage], Naked [unscented] and Death By Lavender [lavender, duh]. All three scents are totally unisex, although Revolver seems to be the most masculine.

Does it work? Will i smell?

First things first, I think it smells amazing! I am super biased though because I love lavender scented things. Revolver also smells great, very natural and kind of woodsy.

The deodorant lasts me all day and keeps me smelling fresh. I will admit, I don’t use it on the weekends if I know i’m going to be at a hot club or dancing around, I am just not that brave. Those nights I use regular, nasty ole Secret.

Remember, this is an deodorant not an antiperspirant so you will sweat a little. Although, since baking soda and corn starch are the main ingredients, it does absorb a good amount of the pit moisture. I even wear it working out and don’t find my pits to sloppy.

As I said before, everyone is different.

The one main draw back to this product is that it doesn’t glide on as softly as regular deodorants and I have heard complaints about it causing some irritation for some people as a result of that.

Where can I buy it?

I found it at Whole Foods. They also sell travel sized so you can try it out, or keep one in your purse or gym bag.

You can also find it online directly from the Chicago-based company: CLICK HERE

You can also click here to see the list of other retailers in your area.

Fragrance Review – Pacifica Island Vanilla Perfume Roll-On

16 Jul

I bought a Pacifica Island Vanilla Perfume Roll-On for me and for my friend because I liked it so much!

It’s $12.00 for .33 ounces of fragrance.  I love that it’s a roll on because you can just throw it in your make up for the summer and use whenever.

wpid-20140706_094209.jpg wpid-20140706_094356.jpg wpid-20140706_094425.jpg

My thoughts

It smells like a spicy vanilla.  Super fun for summer.

The scent is light and you need to reapply after some time.

I love Pacifica products because they are more natural than others on the market!

Have you tried Pacifica?

Do you like it?

May Empties Post! Products I’ve used up!

29 May

I didn’t have enough products for April to do a full post, so I waited an extra month to do this update.  Here are the products I’ve used up and quick thoughts about them.

wpid-20140524_123612.jpg

Shaving cream – a major staple.  It really does make for a better shave.  W both like Skintimate because it is inexpensive.  We blogged about it here.

wpid-20140524_123628.jpg

Another staple – eye brow pencil! Maybelline Define  A Brow pencil.  Easy to use and decent staying power.  To boost length of wear, top with Ben Nye Final Seal.  You’re welcome!

wpid-20140524_123825.jpg

I’ve already repurchased this.  L’oreal Shocking Extensions Mascara. Good stuff.

wpid-20140524_123811.jpg

I liked this, buy it is pricier from Elizabeth Mott.

wpid-20140524_123805.jpg

My current favorite cleanser right now, Clearasil Refreshing Superfruit Wash.

wpid-20140524_123745.jpg

On to…dry shampoo!!!!

Like Suave, will purchase again.

wpid-20140524_123641.jpg

This was okay, I’m not sure I will repurchase again.

wpid-20140524_123701.jpg

Some samples I’ve used up.

I kind of liked this lotion, I actually really liked the scent. Sort of smelled like pancakes. HAHA But I guess if you’re not down with smelling like food, this isn’t your thing.

wpid-20140524_123838.jpg

Joan Voss – a pretty spring scent.   I am undecided about this.

wpid-20140524_123853.jpg

Not my favorite Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab oil.

wpid-20140524_123903.jpg

I think I forgot to include this in my March Empties which had my huge Korean Stash.

wpid-20140524_123913.jpg

This smelled great, buy faded in 5 minutes on me.  Sorry Harvey Prince Cherrie Blossom! 😦

wpid-20140524_123938.jpg

Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion – another staple in my collection.  I received a sample of a few formulas with my Naked 3.

wpid-20140524_123950.jpg

Have you lovelies used any of these?  What are your thoughts?

Review – Harvey Prince Cherie Blossom fragrance

8 Apr

wpid-20140311_073059.jpg wpid-20140311_073041.jpg

Such cute packaging!

And I loved this scent.  It is so perfect for spring and summer.  It smells like cherries and sweet and lovely.  LOVE.

Downside – this did NOT last on me AT ALL.  I couldn’t smell it within an hour.  Such a bummer.

I am hoping to find something similar with better staying power.

Here is what Harvey Prince says about the fragrance:

Reawaken the young, romantic you.

The blooming of the Cherry Blossom in Japan signifies the beginning of spring: new beginnings, a new season, and a new day. It’s time to find your own new beginning with Cherie Blossom.

A handsome French man whispers “ma chérie” to his beloved. Her lips are a delicate red, and she smells of sweet cherries. She knows the power of her beauty. She is flawless. She is ageless. Notes of pink grapefruit dance down her neck–the scent of eternal youth. She is his dream.

Cherie Blossom is the epitome of both rebirth in Japan and the power of a classic French seductress. Sweet, soft hints of Somet Sakura mingle with pink grapefruit and vanilla. A cool musk adds a touch of sophistication. Together, these fragrant notes play a song no man can resist. The woman who dares to wear Cherie Blossom feels timeless, and in truth, we look the way we feel.

Notes: Somei Sakura (Cherry Blossom), Pink Grapefruit, Cool Musk, Vanilla
Style:  Delicate. Young. Passionate.
