Review – Simple Eye Make-Up Remover Pads

15 Dec

Hello Lovelies!  Happy Thursday.  I’ve been using the Simple Eye Make-Up Remover Pads for a couple of weeks now.  Are you super curious what I thought of these?

fullsizer

You can get this for $4.41 at Walmart.com

What the Company says:

Simple Eye Make-Up Remover Pads are tough on mascara (even waterproof mascara) while still being gentle on your lashes and eyes. They are even suitable for contact lens wearers with our dermatologically and ophthalmological tested formula.

My thoughts:

First impression, it takes a little work for these pads to actually remove mascara.  Other eye make-up comes off easy enough, but mascara takes more work.  I wasn’t even using waterproof mascara.  I have no idea how it would work on a waterproof formula.

For heavier make-up application, you will probably need more than 1 pad to fully remove darker traces around your eyes.

On the plus side, it doesn’t sting the eyes.

It smells pleasant, not overly perfumed, just sort of fresh.

I did see some eyelash loss with this, but this happens with everything other than Klorane, which I just ADORED.  Here is that review.

Would I purchase this?  I think this will work well for travel and camping.  For home yes, I would like to try the other formula Simple has, in a bottle.

Have you tried the Simple eye make-up remover or other products?

Thanks for reading!

Review – Simple Micellar Cleansing Water

20 Oct

I have been using the Simple Micellar Cleansing Water every day for a number of weeks now, and I am ready to do a full review.

img_3889

I bought this at Walgreens for just under $8.00.

What they claim:

Smile, It’s Simple

Helps Cleanse, Remove Makeup & Hydrate

Kind to Skin

No Harsh Chemicals, Artificial Perfume or Dyes That Can Upset Your Skin

Simple® Micellar Cleanser Water is our most advanced yet gentle cleanse to date.  It is made with skin-loving ingredients, including Vitamin B3 and C, and Triple Purified Water, our purest possible water, to help remove contaminants known to irritate skin.  Our beauty benefits include:

Promoting a thorough cleanse:  Helping to remove make-up, dirt, impurities & unclog pores.

Helping to instantly hydrate skin:  Made with Triple Purified Water, skin loving ingredients & multi-vitamins, promotes an instant boost of skin hydration by 90%!

No residue:  Applied with a cotton round, Simple® Micellar Cleanser Water helps leave skin feeling fresh & revitalized, no rinsing required!

My thoughts:

At first, I was sort of weirded out that you use a cotton ball or pad to wipe your face clean.  To me, it seemed like a toner instead of  cleanser.  But I followed instructions, and did as I was told.

So?  OMG, I loved it.  My face felt so clean!  It didn’t sting.  It didn’t have any weird lingering scent.  It wasn’t sticky.  It just felt clean.

After a few weeks of use – my pores are smaller and visibly look cleaner.  I don’t have blackheads on my nose.  My skin looks good, and it’s been a pretty stressful few weeks for me.  But my skin looks GOOD!!!

A little of this goes a long way.  I barely used any of it from the bottle.  But I swear, I cleanse my skin daily!

This was the first micellar water cleanser I have tried.  I would like to try others, but this was is so good, WHY?  Right?

Have you guys tried Simple or other micellar water?

Thanks for reading!

Review – Derma E Glycolic Cleanser

16 Sep

I am always attracted to products with glycolic acids because I have this idea they are super luxe and medical grade quality exfoliators.  Here is a not so quick read on what glycolic acids are, in case you are not familiar with the ingredient.

Ages ago, in my local Target or Meijer (can’t recall), I came across the Derma E Glycolic Cleanser.  It retails for around $8.00.   I think I got it for about $4.00

img_3331

I normally really like Derma E as a line.  It’s natural and their scrubs are really effective.  I won’t lie if I say they are some of my favorites.   So, this was on sale, I’m cheap and it’s a huge bottle.

Here is a description of the product:

Thoroughly cleanse and rejuvenate skin with this healthy, fragrance-free face wash. pH balanced, it won’t strip skin of its natural oils or leave any noticeable residue. Glycolic Acid helps slough away dull, lifeless surface cells and unclog pores, leaving skin clean, soft and youthful looking. Marine Plant Extracts, Chamomile and Aloe Vera help purify, detoxify and harmonize skin with every use. 100% vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, mineral oil-free, lanolin-free, gluten free, GMO-free.

What did I think?

I couldn’t get past the texture of this cleanser!  It’s sort of slimy. Which is weird since it’s a wet texture, but it’s slimy.  And the weird part of it is that it’s cooler than the rest of my products.

So much so, that I actually hate putting it on my skin. I figured out quickly that I needed to warm this up in my hands first, before I apply to my face. Sort of stupid, no?

Is it effective?

I don’t notice any difference if I use this for a month or something else.  So, I would say it’s not unclogging pores or leaving my skin youthful looking.  I don’t think this product exfoliates at all.

Would I repurchase?

No.  Not that I won’t try other cleansers from Derma E, but I won’t be reaching for this one again.

Review – Dr. Brandt Light Years Away Cream Cleanser

30 Jan

Hello Lovelies!

Dr. Brandt Light Years Away Cream Cleanser pairs nicely with the Dr. Brandt Light Years Away Whitening Renewal Solution I reviewed yesterday.

Full size 1.0 fl oz retails for $45.00

My Review

First impression, I was shocked how luxurious this felt.  It has a very thick and silky consistency, sort of like hair conditioner.

It left my skin feeling very clean.  It actually squeaked!  I guess, sort of like really clean hair which makes sense since it looks like conditioner. haha

Removes eye make up easily.

No greasy residue or tight feeling to the skin afterwards.

Is it brightening?  Not after 3 days of usage it wasn’t.  Could it be if I used it longer? Maybe???  And for $45.00 I really hope it does what it is supposed to do.

I never spend a lot of money on a cleanser. I prefer to invest in treatments and moisturizers.

Would I buy this if budget wasn’t an issue?  Probably.  I really enjoyed using it.

Have you used Dr. Brandt before?
