What’s in my make-up bag?

15 Nov

fullsizer

This is what I carry with me everyday.

Starting from top and then left to right:

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Powder in Medium.  It’s a good powder, does it’s job.  Keeps me from looking too oily 🙂

Sephora Kabuki Brush.  It’s retractable and perfect for the purse.  I got this on clearance last year and it’s now gone from the site.  This is the closest I could find for the price.

Starlooks Kohl Liner in Obsidian.  Still available and only $9.00 USD.

Revlon ColorBurst in Fliratious Charmeuse $12.88 USD.  I love that this doubles as a lip balm. It’s so soft.

Hikari lipstick in Cabernet $13.00 USD

Sephora + Pantone Universe Collection lipstick in Pure Marsala.  This was a limited edition color last year and I went bonkers over it.  There are still items left over in that shade on Sephora’s website.  It’s a red brown shade, and I’m still a little obsessed with it.

Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey $17 USD.  This is one of my favorite make-up items of all tume.

Blotterazi by beautyblender.  This was a Birchbox sample because I don’t know I would actually purchase this.  It’s $20.00 USD and it’s supposed to be an alternative to blotting.  But, if it really worked would I still be carrying around my MAC Mineralize?

Hope you lovelies enjoyed what is in my purse!

Thanks for reading!!

Review – OGX Hydrating Body Lotion Moroccan Argan Oil

14 Jul

OGX Hydrating Body Lotion Moroccan Argan Oil is an affordable drug store cruelty free option.  It says it isn’t tested on animals!

This HUGE bottle was on sale at my local Mariano’s for $5.00.  I couldn’t resist since I was ready to replace my current lotion.

Whopping 13 ounces of perfume lotion for $5!

So what did I think?

Why I like it

I liked the argan oil ingredient along with the other natural stuff.

It’s not tested on animals!  Yay for cute bunnies not going blind!

It’s huge!  You get a long of product for your dollar.

It’s moisturizing enough for summertime skin.

Why I didn’t like it

It’s very very heavily scented.  It smells like perfume lotion.  Each time I applied it, I thought of the scented skin creams you get with a perfume set around Christmas time.  Think Elizabeth Taylor’s White Diamonds.  You may like this though, I found it overwhelming.

Luckily, the scent doesn’t linger. Which, again…I sort of like when it lingers when I like the scent.

Don’t let that discourage you from trying it, you may totally dig the fragrance.

My skin is very dry normally, goes to a slightly dry in the summer.  This worked for summer, but I don’t think this will work one the temps start to drop.

Also, because I’m not wild about the scent, I don’t reach to reapply.

Will I repurchase?  Not this version.  I may try another formula from the brand before winter starts.  Otherwise, I’m going back to Suave which I LOVE!!!!

Have you tried OGX Hydrating Body Lotion Moroccan Argan Oil?  Do you like it?

Lips – Top Picks

10 Sep

Not going to lie but I am kind of a lipstick noob.   I didn’t really wear it until this year (aside from a bad stint in high school when I though dark / black lips were cute on me.)

After experimenting, reading reviews, spending a bunch of cash.  I have decided these are my favorites:

LUSH – Lipstick $18.95: Highly pigmented, cute colors and they go out of the way to help you find your perfect shade at the Lush Store. It also has jojoba oil and rose wax to help moisturize your lips.

Stila – Stay All Day lipstick $22: I received a sample of this in my August Birchbox and I just love it.  Has staying power and feels weightless.  The red shade (Beso) I have is perfect!

Image

MAC- Lipstick $15: A cult classic for a reason.  They have so many shades, so you will certainly find yours.  The staying power isn’t as good as the two previous liquid lipsticks but I still love it.  (especially their reds and pinks).

NYX Matte Lipstick $6:  My go-to drugstore lipstick.  I love the matte finish and $6 is freaking cheap.

E.L.F.Dramatic Lashes – the best $1.00 you are about to spend!

5 Apr

So in our last post we talked about mascara – Let’s face it, you want your lashes to look like big, full doll lashes, but you don’t want to look like you are trying too hard.  I know, I know fake lashes make you feel like you are going to look like a drag queen.  (which drag queens always look great, so why are you complaining lil miss judgey pants.)

Image

But fake lashes are sooo hard to put on and take soooo much time!?

WRONG!  With just a little practice you can get these babies on lickity-split, plus you look INSTANTLY more fantastic and ‘done up.’  If you mess up, just apply some eyeliner to cover up your mistakes.

Ok, I will give them a try.  But do will they be heavy or hurt to wear?

Babycakes, they only hurt if you don’t cut them to fit your lid.  Measure them before you apply and cut off as much as you need from the inner corner edge.  If you mess up, they are only $1 at your local Target.

Ok, I already LOVE fake lashes -but ELF, come on get real.  They have to suck.

Ladypants, get ready to send us a Thank You card.
