Review – You’re So FINE Liquid Eyeliner by Elizabeth Mott

10 Dec

You’re So FINE Liquid Eyeliner by Elizabeth Mott was in my October Ipsy Glam Bag.

I get a lot of eyeliners from Ipsy, so at first I wasn’t super thrilled to find another.  However, because this was a liquid liner, I was intrigued.

I used to rock the flick in High School like it was going out of style.  Back then, I loved my L’Oreal Liquid Liner.  We were buds.  In time, our live affair cooled and the cat eye flick became my lazy makeup day option.

You’re So FINE Liquid Eyeliner is on the more expensive side, you can pick it up online for $17.99.  This is not a drug store eyeliner, for sure.

What is it?

This is a waterproof liquid eyeliner with some flecks of glitter.  Yes, glitter.

Let’s break this down –

Brush – Awesome.   Thin, flexible, precise

Formula – Awesome. Not too thick, not runny.  Allows you to get a nice swoosh/flick the first time.

Staying power – Awesome.  I do use an Urban Decay primer because my lids are oily.  This eyeliner stayed on all day.  No transfer to the top of my eyelid.

Is it waterproof?

I guess so…  I mean, I didn’t go swimming with this or anything.  However, my eyes tend to water sometimes. I had no issues with the eyeliner running.

What’s up with the glitter?

Yeah, I don’t know.  It’s there.  It’s not super glitter. I wore it to the office, and it was fine.  This isn’t some raver glitter eyeliner.  It just sort of makes the eyeliner look more charcoal than actual dark black.

Would I buy?

Maybe.  I think I like it better than Push Up Eyeliner from Benefit.  They are just so expensive!

Have you tried You’re So FINE Liquid Eyeliner?  What are your thoughts?

Ipsy Glam Bag January 2014!

20 Jan

Woohooo!  First Glam Bag of the year and filled with some exciting things.  PS.  I took these pictures on my floor and I realized I have the world’s most boring carpet color!  ick

The things I am most excited about – The Proactiv+ Mark Fading Pads.  These are 2% salicylic acid which is so great for treating acne and cell turnover.   I always seem to find it in acne medication, so I was psyched to see this.  Used one of these already and will do a full review.  Sorry, I can’t link to the product because I can’t see it on their website.

Épicé Purifying Exfoliant retails for $32 for 3.3 oz.  This is the most expensive product in the bag.  I received a 1 oz sample, so about $10.00 worth of product.  I already used this and will review it soon.

Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner.  I love hair products.  yay!

Mica Lip Tinted Balm in Natural.  Pretty color, and it will great on my mom.  So I will be giving it to her.

Smooth Shadow from Elizabeth Mott in Pearl.  This is a highlighter, eyeliner and waterline liner. I’m excited to use this on my waterline.  Putting flesh colored or white liners in the waterline make your eyes appear bigger.  This is a big deal for me since I wear glasses.

Protip-Glasses for nearsighted correction make your eyes look smaller.  Waterline lining with light or white pencils counters this illusion.  Make your eyes pop, girl!

Keep your peepers peeled for the full reviews on these goodies.

Review: Elizabeth Mott It’s So Big Volumizing Mascara

17 Oct

Good Afternoon, Lovelies!

This little find was in my September Ipsy Glam Bag.  I’ve been so lucky to receive a mascara sample almost every month since July.  I will not be low on mascara for a while.

As always, I must put out the disclaimer that my eyelids are super oily.  Mascara usually runs and smears when I wear it.  Sometimes this happens with waterproof versions.  But sometimes I’m surprised.  Pixi was a good surprise and so is the Elizabeth Mott It’s So Big Volumizing Mascara.

My review:

This has amazing staying power.  But it comes off easily…no tugging or pulling.

I LOVE that this is a cruelty free product.

And I love that it makes my lashes look like this:

2013-10-16 12.13.39 2013-10-16 12.15.52

I haven’t purchased anything from my Ipsy samples yet, and this is going to be my first.  I like it this much.  I will even pay $20.00 for it, I DON’T CARE.

I don’t have to worry that my mascara is smudged during my work hours, I am confident I don’ t look like a hot mess.   My l ashes aren’t sticky or spikey, or weird. AND I didn’t have to kill a bunny to look cute.

Also, it is super build-able!

It does sort of evaporate after 12 hours, sort of like MAC’s used to.  However, I was able to reapply without issues.

Have you tried this mascara yet?  What is your absolute max $ you are willing to spend for mascara?

Sidenote- I lined my eyes with the Cailyn Gel Liner I reviewed here https://fairygodmotherbeautyblog.com/2013/07/02/review-june-ipsy-box/#more-1248
