Once in a while, I reminisce about the scents I wore in High School and College. Some of those, I really miss. Do you have lovelies ever get those moments?
Here is what I’m missing right now:
Clairborne, by Liz Clairbone. It used to come in these wonderfully colorful plastic covered bottles! I loved the red ones! The scent is unmistakable and unforgettable. Crisp, floral, light. I love this fragrance and have been considering buying it again now.
Tuscany Per Donna by Estee Lauder. I was so in love with this scent when I was 17 and 18. It was warm and sensual, and it made me feel beautiful. I felt invincible when I was wearing Tuscany Per Donna. It looks like this still in product just like Clairbone, but the bottle has changed a lot. I also can never find it at a brick and mortar store, and I’d really like to try it before I buy it. Because what if I hate it now? AmIright?
Il Bacio By Borghese. I think this was one of the first scents I bought at Lord & Taylor and received a gift with purchase. Free gift with fragrance purchase was a game changer for me at the time. I remember this being a musky scent. Very grown up, or so the 19 year old me thought. I think this fragrance is completely out of production at this point. I’m only able to find it on market places and the prices are sort of all over the place. I also don’t know how a 20 year old fragrance can hold up and retain its scent integrity.
Colors by Benetton was the first perfume I ever asked for from “Santa”. I smelled it on my cousin and immediately coveted the scent. It’s still in production, the bottle is different (I hate it!! Why is it green?), and I have no idea if it smells the same. It was crisp, what I thought at the time, almost unisex. It seemed modern and hip, and I was 14 so who knows what it really smelled like.
I recently bought Vanilla Fields by Coty for my mom, and it’s still as lovely as I remembered. It’s the perfect vanilla scent. Nothing more nothing less. It’s warm, it’s feminine, it’s divine. I’m getting this for myself soon.
Ex’cla-ma’tion was another Coty fragrance. Available in your local drug stores and inexpensive enough to save your allowance to purchase. I actually don’t even remember how this smelled. I do remember it was strong and intense and I think flowery. I don’t know if this is still in production, but I think I remember seeing it in the past year.
I hope you enjoyed my stroll down memory lane.
Are there any beauty products you remember fondly?
