Review – Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Eye Base

20 Nov
I received Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Eye Base in my latest Ipsy Glam Bag in the color Submissive.
This was a full size product, which I love.
image
So what did I think?
How can I put this mildly…this is probably the worst eye shadow base I have ever used.
Why? It fails to base or prime.
It’s a cream based shimmer base.  Should work on its own or as a base.  Sadly, this creased so badly and within hours my makeup was gone.  Gone girl, gone!
Too bad, because the color is so pretty.  Shimmer, golden bronze.
I have not had a great luck with the brand Be a Bombshell.  The mascara I received a few months ago was a straight up fail.  Today, Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Eye Base joined its mascara cousin.
I hate throwing away makeup products, but this was just usable for me.
It didn’t work when I primed the primer either.  And really, should I even have had to do that?
Did you get Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Eye Base?
What did you think?

Check her out here.

June Ipsy Bag! Pretty in Paradise

26 Jun

June’s Ipsy bag is super fun!  AND even though I have an irrational hate of pineapples, I do love the pineapple print on the bag itself.  🙂

wpid-20140612_070313.jpg

Almost every single item in this bag was a huge win for me.  I mean, like L.O.V.E.

NYX butter gloss – love

wpid-20140612_070321.jpg

Skinn Olive & Enzyme Cleanser – LOVE.  I love the scent of this, I love how it feels on my face.  I love how well it removes everything.
wpid-20140612_070332.jpg
Nicka K New York Shimmer Eyeliner in Green.  SO MUCH LOVE.  This thing has serious staying power.  I even ran 2 miles in this stuff (disclaimer, I was wearing UD primer) and it stayed put.
wpid-20140612_070343.jpg
Marc Anthony Dream Waves Beach Spray – LOVE!  I’ve never used a beach spray before and was skeptical.  But I’m wearing it two days in the row now.
wpid-20140612_070426.jpg
The not so love – Be A Bombshell Lash Out Mascara
wpid-20140612_070412.jpg
I think be a bombshell is sort of hit and miss with their products, so I wasn’t sure what to expect.  I’m not sure if this stuff was super old or dry, but it did NOTHING for my lashes.  Zip, nada. nothing.
Oh well
I loved everything else.

Review – City Color Be Matte Blush

2 Apr

City Color Be Matte Blush in Dragonfruit was in my Opsy Glam bag in February.

Ok, at first I thought this color was CRAZY!!! I mean look at how freaking PINK it is.

I took flash and non flash pictures for this review since the color is soooo intense.  On the Left is FLASH.  On the Right is NO FLASH.  Dig?

wpid-20140313_073423.jpg wpid-20140313_073411.jpg

As you can see, it’s very bright pink.

wpid-20140313_073512.jpg wpid-20140313_073323.jpg

But, LOOK how deceiving it is under different lighting!  This is the same exact shot and the same exact amount of product swatched on my hand.  And look how much more intense it looks with the flash.  Without, you can almost barely see it, no?

wpid-20140313_074223.jpg wpid-20140313_074301.jpg

Same here….oh man…here is my face on the interwebs!

Either way, I think the color is pretty and flattering and you shoulnd’t be afraid to try it.

Did you try it?  Did you like it or hate it?

Ipsy Glam Bag – March

1 Apr

I can’t believe I forgot to blog about this!

March Ipsy Glam Bag was fun!  Here is what I got:

wpid-20140317_132836.jpg

wpid-20140317_133000.jpg wpid-20140317_133010.jpg

This cosmetic bag was super cute this month.  Kassi got it as part of her B-Day gift.  Happy Birthday Kassi!!!!

wpid-20140317_132939.jpg

Pixi Flawless Primer – I’m surpised I like this as much as I do.  It also goes incredibly well with my L’Oreal BB Cream.  I know, seems redundant, but for some reason I really like this combo.

wpid-20140317_132945.jpg

I wasn’t super excited to get another NYX palette.  I have received a number of neutral palettes in the past few months, and I would have liked something with more fun colors.   The quality is great, as all NYX products.

wpid-20140317_132923.jpg wpid-20140317_132903.jpg

Sorry, I couldn’t get this to focus right on my Chella eye liner.  HOW MUCH DO I LOVE THAT THIS IS BLUE.  Seriously!  The only thing that could have made this better was if it were purple.  Also this retails for $24.00 and this was a full size product.

wpid-20140317_132952.jpg

bareMineralsMarvelous Moxie™ Lipstick in Get Ready sample.  I really like this lipstick.  It feels sooooo nice on your lips and it’s a really neutral day time color.

What did you get in your Ipsy bag!!!

Review – Épicé Purifying Exfoliant!

19 Feb

Épicé Purifying Exfoliant was in my January 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag.

wpid-20140212_065227.jpg

wpid-20140212_065241.jpg

Oh how I love exfoliants!!!

exfoliant cartoon_s

I was very excited to get Épicé Purifying Exfoliant in my Ipsy.  What a great way to start off the year!

What is it?

From Ipsy:

A unique exfoliant which removes excess dirt and dead skin cells all while activating collagen production and hydrating your skin. This moisture rich formula utilizes mild, non-irritating and anti-bacterial cleansers with micro-fine polyspheres which enhances skin texture and clarity for a clean, fresh appearance. Purifying Exfoliant is also great to use on the entire body and after just a few uses, you will begin to see improvement in the look and feel of your skin.

Benefits:
Micro-fine polyspheres gently exfoliate removing excess dead cells and environmental debris.
Exfoliation helps open pores, which increases excretion of toxins.
Packed with emollients, humectants and barrier protectors to hydrate dry, irritated skin.
Contains several natural collagen boosters for damaged skin.
Softens skin as it cleans.
Non-irritating, antiseptic, bacteria and fungus fighting properties.

This retails for $32.00 USD and you can get it here.

My thoughts

I think this is a lovely exfoliant.  It’s certainly not a budget product and very high end.  It has a pleasant scent and it does what it says it does.

I also like that it can be left on longer to act as a mask.  It leaves my skin nice and soft.

Would I repurchase?  If I had an unlimited budget, yes.  Otherwise, no.

As much as I like it, I don’t think it does anything additional that a drug store exfoliant doesn’t do.

But I am sure happy I got to try it!  Such a generous sample too.  🙂

Have you tried this line?

Ipsy Glam Bag January 2014!

20 Jan

Woohooo!  First Glam Bag of the year and filled with some exciting things.  PS.  I took these pictures on my floor and I realized I have the world’s most boring carpet color!  ick

wpid-20140120_093139.jpg

The things I am most excited about – The Proactiv+ Mark Fading Pads.  These are 2% salicylic acid which is so great for treating acne and cell turnover.   I always seem to find it in acne medication, so I was psyched to see this.  Used one of these already and will do a full review.  Sorry, I can’t link to the product because I can’t see it on their website.

wpid-20140120_093305.jpg

Épicé Purifying Exfoliant retails for $32 for 3.3 oz.  This is the most expensive product in the bag.  I received a 1 oz sample, so about $10.00 worth of product.  I already used this and will review it soon.

wpid-20140120_093247.jpg

Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner.  I love hair products.  yay!

wpid-20140120_093212.jpg

Mica Lip Tinted Balm in Natural.  Pretty color, and it will great on my mom.  So I will be giving it to her.

wpid-20140120_093237.jpg

Smooth Shadow from Elizabeth Mott in Pearl.  This is a highlighter, eyeliner and waterline liner. I’m excited to use this on my waterline.  Putting flesh colored or white liners in the waterline make your eyes appear bigger.  This is a big deal for me since I wear glasses.

wpid-20140120_093406.jpg

Protip-Glasses for nearsighted correction make your eyes look smaller.  Waterline lining with light or white pencils counters this illusion.  Make your eyes pop, girl!

Keep your peepers peeled for the full reviews on these goodies.

xoxo ~Anna
